“Moving away from home to a new area for school is always intimidating. Karen continuously goes out of her way and surpasses my expectations to ensure each tenant’s experience in her home is safe, welcoming, fair, and affordable. Karen truly goes above and beyond and cares for each one of her tenants. The biggest thing about Karen that sets her apart from the other landlords in the area is that she genuinely cares about your well being. She makes you her number one priority including going out of her way to stand up for student housing rights.Truthfully, my experience living in one of Karen’s homes cannot be topped and I am sad that my 3 years of school are coming to a close. I wholeheartedly recommend Karen as she has always been just a phone call away and has assisted me over the years beyond belief. It’s hard to find landlords who genuinely care about you like Karen does.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I allowed to request a specific room?

You can list your preferences on the application and we will do our best to place you in the room that fits these requests, pending availability.

Can I fill out an application online?

Yes! Get the process started here.

Can I request specific roommates?

Yes, you can list the roommates you have chosen in your resident application. It is important that all roommates list each other and that all requests are mutual. Please keep in mind that any extra rooms in the house will be filled with other occupants.

What is the lease term?

Gatehouse properties enters into 12 month lease terms with its residents. If you require a shorter term, please indicate this on your application as we may be able to accommodate you. Alternatively, you can choose to sublet your room for the time you will not be using it (ex. the summer months). Please refer to the next FAQ regarding sublets for more details on this process.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are not recommended as they can cause damages, pest problems and undue hardship to other residents, all which you are liable for, in addition to being a large financial and time commitment which may affect your studies. If you wish to bring in a pet, you must first obtain written consent from every member of your household and then fill out an application with Gatehouse Properties. In order to receive approval, the application requires proof of consent from your roommates, proof of up to date vaccinations, a clean bill of health from a veterinarian and payment of the pet fee outlined in your lease.

Approval can be revoked at any time if pet causes damages, pest issues or disturbs the reasonable enjoyment of the household by other occupants.
